Libraries lost

I read in The Guardian today (29/1/2011) that campaign groups are drawing up plans to take the culture secretary and his minister to court over the potential closure of more than 400 public libraries in Britain.

On our Island the Council is threating to close down 9 of our 11 libraries, starting end of March this year. The Libraries staying will be called 'Libraries Extra' (?) - makes you think of 'Tesco Express' . The other libraries may be run by the the communities themselves, and staffed by volunteers.

My two little friends say they could perhaps out and help, but I've told them I don't think it's a good idea.
