After 3-4 years on the waiting list I am now the happy tenant of an allotment. It comes with raised beds and scarecrow, and was shown to me on a brilliantly sunny Sunday at the end of October.
So far I've been doing a lot of weeding and clearing, finding old name tags in the process, indicating what the previous owner were successful with (or not?). I've also salvaged some rhubarb left behind, now reduced to two jars of jam. I have a box with some garden tools. And I have sea views.
