'The boy in the striped pyjamas' , by John Boyne

It's a must-read. A thin volume, finished in a couple of hours, but leaves you with huge feelings of sadness, anger, disbelief, and more sadness, and amazement over how cleverly it's put together. I can't tell you what the book is about, you have to start reading 'blindly' ... . But it's worth it. It touches deeply into part of our history which still has an enourmous impact on all our lives in one way or the other, and the story is written from a frightening and gradually eye-opening perspective. I wish it would be part of the school curriculum, from perhaps middle school and upwards. Read it.
